Leinster Ladies Junior Football Championship

Carlow 2 - 8

Louth   1 - 8

Carlow got off their Leinster Junior Championship with a win against Louth in SETU last Sunday.

Fresh from their Lidl NFL Final win over Limerick, Rachel Sawyer found the back of the net within the first minute for the home side.

It was a big battle by both teams and when Ciara Woods hit the net for Louth it meant Carlow went in just three ahead at the interval.

It was a fairly even start to the 2nd half as both sides racked up points, until Rachel Sawyer got the ball and put it into the back of the Louth net again for her and Carlow's second major.

Carlow looked to be cruising, but Sara Doyle got a yellow card with 15 mins to go. It was a nervous 10mins plus while Sara was on the sideline.

But Carlow held on until the final whistle to get their win and now go onto play Longford away on Sunday.
